Brooklyn & Halle's Rhythm Works Dance!

Brooklyn & Halle have been at RWDS this past year dancing. Tonight was their Spring dance recital. Its the first time either of them have been in a dance class. It was fun to have them together, they are both shy so they do better together. Also little Grace Prows who lives next door, one of Brooklyn's favorite friends, has been in the class with the girls. They had a really fun year! Michelle Purser and her daughter McKenzie, our neighbors, have been their teachers. They had a really fun year dancing each week!

Daddy Daughter Breakfast...

Our little Brooklyn turned 8 on June 8th, last Tuesday. So now she is in Activity Days with Primary! This year I am her primary teacher which I have loved! She is such a special little girl with such a great little spirit. Im also now her Activity Day Leader. So today was her very first activity...It was our annual Daddy Daughter Breakfast! We have such a great ward with soo many Dads that Love their daughters! We had such a great turn out...and as you can see we had alot of fun! One of the leaders brought a hand held trampoline, so the dads grabbed on and each girl took a turn being tossed into the air! It was soo much fun until the dads started telling me it was my turn! No way! Im sooooo afraid of heights! But then the girls started in and I could quickly see there was no way out! So I did it - but I was so scared! It only took once, and I was done! My legs were shaking after! It was such a fun morning, Im so grateful Jared is such a great dad to our children.

Halle's last days of kindergarten....

Just before school ended, Halle did some pretty fun things with her Kindergarten class and Mrs. Adams. On June 3rd we took a field trip on a bus down to Murray to Wheeler Farm. We had alot of fun seeing all the animals and feeding them...and for most of us, this was our first bus ride trip ever! Then on June 10th her class did a little kindergarten program. It was amazing! Halle has had such a wonderful teacher this year! We will be sad to loose her, but we are also excited that Halle is soo smart, she gets to move onto first grade...yea Halle!

Brooklyn turns 8...on the 8th!

Our little Brooklyn had her 8th birthday today - on the 8th! WOW how time flies! It seems like only yesterday we were awaiting her arrival into this world! Out of all 4 of my kids I think I was the most anxious and nervous when Brooklyn came. She was soo beautiful...a perfect little angel. After Jared and I got married, we always said she made our family feel complete...there was a little peice of each of us in her! She came 5 weeks earlie, but that was great because I had been on bed rest for almost 5 months and I had gotten a blood clot in my left leg when I was only a month and a half along! So I was ready in more ways than one! She only weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz. She was tiny! And after a week she went down to weighing only 5 lbs 4 oz. Oh how we adored you! You never got put down....you were loved every minute! Kylie was 12 when you were born, so she always wanted to take care of you and play with you with her friends!
Your birthday has been a great day! You are in year-round school, so you were at school today, all your friends helped make today special for you! We brought pizza and treats for lunch and all of your friends made b-day cards for you, and teacher made you a b-day crown!
Best of all Ky & Steve sent you a present from New York, so I brought it to school for you to open up, It was a pink shirt with "I Love NY" on the front and a little Statue of Liberty! You are getting baptized, but not until the first week in September, because Kylie & Steve are living in New York City for the summer and you didnt want to get baptized until they could be home to see you!
You are soo tender hearted and sweet, you hate for anyone to feel left out and try to include everyone. You and Halle are best friends and play soo good together. And you favorite place in the world to be...is at Home with your family. You are just like your dad, a little homebody!
Its hard to believe its been 8 years, my how the time flies.....
We are lucky to have you in our family! Happy Birthday Peanut!

David Archuleta

What an honor to meet Sherri Dew - she was wonderful!

WOW!! What an amazing and FUN day! My friend Amy Frei, her sister Amber and I all headed down to Salt Lake City this morning to the new Deseret Book building for a book signing with David Archuleta. David was the first runner up on season 7 of AMERICAN IDOL! David is from right here in Utah. He went to Murray High School with my nephew Cade Bullough. He has written a book called "Chords of Stregnth" where he talks about his life and all that has brought him to this point in his life. He is a member of the church and also talks about his faith and how important his family is to him. It was soo fun to meet him and to hear him sing. He sang two songs, Crush - from his last CD, and then Broken Road by Rascall Flats - ocapella! It was amazing, he is very talented! Hundereds of people came out to see him perform and sign books. We were lucky enough to be up close to the front. Amy's mom Patty was there at 6:00 am and saved us a spot! But the greatest bonus was when Sheri Dew - president of Deseret Book, walked past us. I couldnt help myself and had to go say hello and tell her what an amazing woman I think she is. She was nice enough to also let us get our picture taken with her. She was very cordial and fun to talk to.What a fun day!

Homemade Suckers!

One of our families very favorite things to do is to make homemade Suckers! Its something that takes me back to my own childhood...My mom was always willing to make suckers with us kids. It was a wonderful treat! and its one of my greatest childhood memories...we would make suckers, find an old shoebox, cover it with tin foil, poke holes in it, and fill it with suckers. Then we would go door to door and sell them. Either the neighbors were just being kind, or everyone loved them too! The box always came home empty! I still have some of the flavors and even some of the old molds. Its because of her that I have a hard time saying no to my own kids when they want to make them. What fun memories! Thanks mom!

Bye bye....try not to cry...New York awaits!

This is the last thing I saw before Kylie & Steve left on their exciting journey to NEW YORK CITY! I was soo excited for them and did a great job hiding my tears until I drove off! WOW that was soo hard - harder than I thought it would be...you watch people you love going off into a strange and crazy new world! And you are left alone to think of your life without them for awhile and pray for their safe return. I love them both soo much! Im soo proud of Steve. He is such a great husband to my Kylie, he adores her! You can see it when he looks at her, and has such a great adesire to do well for himself. He will go places, Im sure of it! And Kylie, she has grown soo much in the past year they have been married. She is strong and very loving. They put the gospel first in their lives, and it shows. Im excited for the journey that lies ahead of them!
They will be gone for 79 days, or thirteen weeks. But I will be leaving on July 27th to go visit them for 6 days! Im very excited I cant wait to go!
